New York,
NY, January 24, 2002. The Well Appointed House (www.WellAppointedHouse.com), the premier source
for home décor and accessories, today launches a new gift registry service
designed to simplify gift giving and allow gift givers to easily share the cost
of expensive gifts. (See demo registry at http://www.felicite.com/registry.cfm?demowah-6530)
A registry
can be set up from The Well Appointed House’s website using convenient
add-to-registry buttons. Gifts can
then be purchased directly from the registry on-line. The registry is automatically updated
after each purchase to avoid duplicate gifts and can be used for a variety of
occasions, from weddings and baby showers to birthdays or housewarming parties.
Unlike
conventional gift registries, a unique Partial Purchase feature (patent pending)
allows gift givers to make a partial contribution towards any gift. This way,
the cost of expensive gifts can be easily shared. The system keeps track of contributions
and updates the outstanding balance in real-time.
“Traditionally a gift registry was limited to gifts in the $50 to $100
range because that was what gift givers usually spent,” says Melissa Hawks,
Owner. “ With Partial Purchase, you
can register something nice for the house, such as our $1,300 coffee table, and
have your friends share the cost.
Group gifts have been around a long time, but this system makes it really
convenient.”
The gift
registry also contains many other useful features such as an on-line photo
album, RSVP service, E-notification system and free announcement page. For example, you can use the
E-Notification system to let your friends know about your registry; post a
picture in the on-line photo album to share with friends; use the on-line RSVP
system to simplify the RSVP process.
To maintain privacy, each registry can be protected with an optional
guest password.
The Well
Appointed House chose Felicite.com (http://www.felicite.com), to develop and
operate its gift registry system.
Felicite.com is a leading provider of private label gift registry systems
for on-line and off-line merchants.
Its system can be quickly integrated with a merchant’s retail store, web
site or mail order operations, and is the only system with the Partial Purchase
feature.
“We liked
the extra features offered by the Felicite.com system, such as Partial Purchase
and photo album. The easy to use
interface makes the gift registry process more convenient for our
customers. Their system is also
integrates easily with the Yahoo store platform by means of a custom template,”
says Melissa Hawks.
The Well
Appointed House was founded in early 2002 by Melissa Hawks, a Manhattan based
advertising executive, to sell unique wedding day accessories. It has since expanded to gifts and décor
for every room in the house. Its
web site can be found at http://www.WellAppointedhouse.com
