Felicite.com Asks What is a Traditional Wedding Gift?

Stamford CT, July 20, 2007. Wedding registries on Felicite.com indicate for many brides and grooms the days of toasters and flatware have been replaced by Blue-ray DVD players and Apple TV components.  “This seems to reinforce a trend away from traditional gifts which we have seen since Felicite started in 1999” says VP of Marketing Peter DiSalvo.

DiSalvo explained it seems that couples are marrying at a stage in life where they are more established than in previous generations; either already living together or having their own households already complete.  “Don’t get me wrong we do see many traditional wedding gifts. But with so many couples listing DVD players, TV’s, camping gear, or contributions to exotic honeymoon destinations, it makes me wonder, do they already have a toaster or do today’s couples value a new technology or trip the way our parents valued fine tableware?”

Felicite is a gift registry service that lets registrants list any gift, for any occasion including cash gifts. Felicite holds a patent for its partial purchase system which allows multiple gift-givers to contribute toward the cost of one gift. Felicite is complete with social networking features like guestbook, RSVP, photo-album, and e-notifications and each registry gets a unique hyperlink that can be posted on places like MySpace or
