COOKS CORNER LAUNCHES NEW ON-LINE BRIDAL AND GIFT REGISTRY WITH UNIQUE PARTIAL PURCHASE FEATURE
Manitowoc, WI, April 1, 2003. On April 1, 2003, Cooks Corner, the nation's largest kitchen
store in downtown Manitowoc, is launching a new and unique on-line bridal and
gift registry service for their store designed to simplify gift giving, avoid
unwanted and duplicate gifts, and make it easier for the bride and groom-to-be
to communicate their wishes.
Customers can set up a gift registry from either Cooks
Corner's store located at 836 South 8th Street in downtown Manitowoc, or on
their website (http://www.cookscorner.com). Once the registry is set up, gift
givers can buy the perfect gift either on-line, at the store or by calling a
convenient toll-free number. After each purchase, the gift list is
automatically updated to avoid duplicate gifts. Cooks Corner's Bridal Registry
offers free gift-wrapping. The registry is not just limited to weddings, but
can be used for all types of events such as birthdays, Christmas, housewarming,
baby showers, etc. For a demonstration of how the registry works, see
http://www.felicite.com/registry.cfm?democc-7723.
Unlike conventional gift registries, the Cooks Corner gift
registry has a unique Partial Purchase feature that allows gift givers to make
a partial contribution towards any gift. This way, the cost of expensive gifts
can be easily shared. The system keeps track of contributions and updates the outstanding
balance in real-time.
"Conventional gift registries have a hard time with the more
expensive gifts since the average gift giver spends only $50 to $100,"
says Peter Burback, owner of Cooks Corner. "But with the Partial Purchase
feature, gift givers can make a partial contribution towards any gift so the
cost of expensive gifts can be shared."
The Cooks Corner on-line gift registry also contains many
other useful features such as an on-line photo album, RSVP service,
E-notification system and free announcement page. For example, customers can
use the E-Notification system to let their friends know how to access the
registry. They can share pictures using the on-line photo album. To maintain
privacy, each registry can be protected with an optional guest password.
Cooks Corner selected Felicite.com (http://www.felicite.com)
to operate its gift registry system. Felicite.com is the leading provider of
private label gift registry systems for on-line and off-line merchants. Its
system can be quickly integrated with a merchant's retail store, web site or
mail order operations, and is the only system with the Partial Purchase
feature.
"Felicite.com enabled us to move our gift registry
on-line quickly and inexpensively," says Nancy Leigh, head of Internet
Operations at Cooks Corner. "It would have taken us far longer and more
money to develop our own system. By using their system we can take advantage of
their experience and economy of scale."
Cooks Corner's 10,000 square feet retail store is located in
downtown Manitowoc, Wisconsin. The store features a large selection of name
brand cookware, bakeware, specialty cookbooks, small electrics, and thousands
of kitchen gadgets. Gourmet foods, coffee, and made-from-scratch fudge is also
available. In addition to the retail store, Cooks Corner also operates a
successful mail order and on-line business.
