THIS IS A RUSH
TRANSCRIPT. THIS COPY MAY NOT BE IN ITS FINAL FORM AND MAY BE
UPDATED. FREDRICKA WHITFIELD, CNN ANCHOR: The oh so elusive
perfect gift, if you're like many of us who spend countless
hours searching the malls and specialty shops for the right
thing, there just might be an easier way. It's right at your
fingertips. CNN's James Hattori logs on.

JAMES HATTORI, CNN CORRESPONDENT
(voice-over): So you're getting married. While you may not be
an overly material girl, when it comes to gifts, you want more
than the usual bridal store registry. Well, check out
Felicite.com.
HANS XU, FELICITE.COM: Felicite.com is an
online gift registry that allows people to register any gift
from any store.
HATTORI: The Web site is part registry,
part personal shopper. Couples can pick gifts from online
catalogs, or bricks-and-mortar stores. Felicite records the
requests, puts up a Web site that wedding guests can access,
and even takes care of delivery.
LINDSAY STEVENS, GIFT
REGISTRY USER: Whether it's REI, or Williams Sonoma, or
Tiffany's, you can go anywhere and it's great. You can ask for
anything.
HATTORI: Lindsay Stevens' fiance, Brett
Gardner is thinking big. The couple has registered for a
43-inch Sony TV, costing $2,000.
BRETT GARDNER, GIFT
REGISTRY USER: I mean, the whole idea of bridal registry or
whatever is kind of weird as it is, so ultimately you're
asking for a gift, you might as well ask for what you want.
HATTORI: That doesn't mean someone has to pop for the
whole two grand. Felicite lets individuals donate cash toward
a bigger gift.
XU: So if they only want to spend $20,
it's fine, they can just contribute $20 toward something that
you have on there.
STEVENS: It's more for him,
definitely. I mean, he, I don't know, I probably would ask for
a hot tub or something else.
GARDNER: Which I'm fine
with that. We could ask for that too, you know,
hey.
HATTORI: And it's not just for weddings.
When Mark Lipson went to the hospital for cancer
chemotherapy, his wife, Marcy Abrams, decided to refer all the
friends who wanted to send flowers to their Felicite Web page
instead. They picked out some comfy patio furniture where Mark
can convalesce in peace at their home in the Santa Cruz
mountains.
MARCY ABRAMS, GIFT REGISTRY USER: Here we
are in this organic farm in the springtime. I can't imagine a
more healing place to be.
HATTORI: Mark says enjoying
the gift is like having his friends with him.
MARK
LIPSON, GIFT REGISTRY USER: Which is just really important. I
can't overstate how important that is when you're trying to
get your health back.
HATTORI: James Hattori, CNN.
