About Felicite Gift Registry Network

In 1999 some of us were getting married, attending weddings, and having babies. We were registering for gifts and buying gifts for friends. We started thinking...

Wouldn't it be great if we could register for gifts from more than one store? Wouldn't it be great to have a registry for any event? What if the bride and groom, parents-to-be, or other celebrant really wanted cash or to donate to a charity? What if many gift givers could share in the cost of one gift? What about social networking features like an online photo album, e-notifcation system, RSVP? (today many want to post their event on places like MySpace and Facebook)

In response to all these questions Felicite was born! (Feel free to pronounce it, "felicity", in many languages it translates to the quality or state of being happy; especially : great happiness <marital felicity>*)

We worked with merchants to create a network that would allow registrants to select items from more than one store. Over 100 merchants added Felicite code to their website; registrants can browse our member merchant stores and click the "Add to Registry" buttons to place items on their Felicite registry gift list.

Not every store in the world has Felicite Add to Registry buttons (but we're working on it!) Registrants that can't find the item they want at a member merchant store can list their gift manually by choosing from a list of approved merchants.

Early on Felicite recognized that many people prefer to receive a Cash Gift we were one of the first to offer enable cash gift giving via gift registry. Very popular today is the idea of marking an event by making a charitable contribution and Felicite made it easy to add a charitable listing to a gift list.

Realizing that the social obligation of gift giving may conflict with a gift givers budget Felicite applied for and was awarded patent 7,013,292 by the United States Patent Office for its gift registry system with a Partial Purchase feature. This means many gift givers can chip in on the cost of one gift; when the total cost is reached the gift order is placed. No longer would one friend or relative have to act as the central bank, collecting checks from other gift givers when the really should be enjoying the event. Now they can just let Felicite do it.

The partial purchase feature means paying for a gift can be a shared event. To go along with this social gift giving Felicite added other social networking features to make Felicite more than just a gift list. Each registry comes with a photo album so pictures can be shared online. Felicite also has a guestbook for posting messages, an RSVP system to manage guest lists, and an e-Notification system to send out announcements!

To help spread the word o your event each registry has a unique hyperlink that can be emailed or posted on social networking sites like Facebook and MySpace.com; the hyperlink conveniently takes users directly to the registry. This means friends and family can quickly get to your registry gift list, photo album, etc. To protect their privacy, an optional guest password can be assigned to limit access.
